Instant Tomato Dosa

Wishing everyone a very Happy New and Prosperous Year! Made this instant crispy tomato dosa for breakfast. Definitely a quick one for the people who crave dosa and do not have much time.


Ingredients (Serving 7 to 8 dosas)

1 cup rice flour

1 cup semolina or rava

½ tsp salt

½ tsp baking soda

3 medium-sized tomatoes

5 to 6 dry red chillies

2 to 3 garlic pods

½ tsp ginger paste

½ tsp ground black pepper


Method

  1. To a blending jar, add chopped tomatoes, dry red chillies, salt, garlic pods and ginger. Grind it to a fine paste.

  2. To a bowl, add rice flour, semolina or rava, ground black pepper, and baking soda and give it a mix.

  3. Add the paste to this bowl and add 3 cups of water and mix it. Avoid any lump formation while mixing.

  4. Add extra water if required to make it almost water consistency.

  5. Rest the batter for 5 to 10 minutes.

  6. Place a pan on the stove on medium flame, add the batter on the pan making dosa or crepe. Since the batter is of water consistency, make sure the poured batter is fully covered on the pan. Add a tsp of oil around the corners.

  7. Let it cook for a minute or so and flip it to cook the other side for another minute.

  8. Remove the dosa from the pan and enjoy it with your favorite dip. I served mine with coconut chutney.
