Coming from the spice’s land, it’s always enticing to try different dishes with spices. Clubbing the love of fries and the taste of masala! Seizing the crispness of the fries and giving the tangy twist definitely its a winner for me.

Ingredients

3 long potatoes

½ tsp salt

½ tsp ground red chilli/paprika

½ tsp ground coriander

¾ tsp chilli flakes

¾ tsp oregano

3 tsp olive oil

Ingredients for Masala fries

2 small onions diced

2 tomatoes diced

Fresh coriander/basil

Lemon juice(optional)

3 tsp yoghurt

3 tsp vegetable/olive oil

Method for baked fries

  1. Wash and peel the skin of the potatoes if you like. I’m leaving my potatoes unpeeled.

  2. Cut the potatoes long medium-thin slices.

  3. Add olive oil to the sliced potatoes, add salt, ground red chilli, ground coriander, chilli flakes, oregano etc. and mix it well.

  4. On the baking tray, add parchment paper and place the potato slices. Preheat the oven to 230-degree celsius. Place the baking tray in the oven for 35 to 40 minutes once the oven is ready.

Method for masala fries

  1. On the stove with medium flame, place a shallow frying pan and add vegetable oil to it.

  2. Add diced onions, saute until it turns translucent and then add tomatoes and cook it for 3 minutes.

  3. Add ½ tsp ground coriander, ¼ tsp red chilli powder, ½ tsp chilli sauce, mix it and cook for a minute.

  4. Add 3/4th of the baked fries to the pan and mix it. Add the remaining fries to the pan and mix before serving.
